Waste, Piunti (Conou): "Italy leader in EU for collection and regeneration of mineral oils"

Rome, July 1 (Adnkronos) – “Italians have a distorted perception of the supply chain of used mineral oils: they think that they are partly burned, partly disposed of improperly or collected spontaneously by workshops, but the reality is different. Italy is an excellence in Europe: it collects and regenerates almost all (98%) of used oil while the average of the Union stops at around 60%.

At the heart of this system is the Conou consortium model, which efficiently organizes the entire supply chain. It is a shame that citizens do not know these results: awareness of the effectiveness of the Italian circular economy can strengthen its success, also thanks to the active role of citizens”. These are the words of Riccardo Piunti, president of Conou, on the occasion of the Ecoforum 2025, organized in Rome by Legambiente, Nuova Ecologia and Kyoto Club.
